Election Controversy Update (8/28/21)

Election Controversy Update (8/28/21) The state of Arizona began auditing its 2020 election earlier in the year by recounting the number of ballots. In Maricopa County, where 60% of the voters live, the number of ballots matched what was reported by the county supervisors. However, The audit did not consider other ways of defrauding the vote. The State Senate of Arizona, by popular voter demand, decided to audit the election again, but this time looking for the other ways of cheating.

The reasons for an audit to be held are to affirm an outcome of a previous election or to show how the voting system can be improved before the next election. The senate stated the justification for their audit was for the latter. The investigation has finished forensically recounting the physical ballots of Maricopa County, where 2.1 million of the Arizona’s 3.1 million votes were cast. The only thing needed to finish the audit is to examine the computer routers for evidence of illegal use.

Special computers are used to tabulate and record the number of votes for each candidate. They are not supposed to be accessible to outside adjustments (updates) through the Internet during an election. The most commonly used election computers in the United States are made by the Dominion company. It’s the kind used in Maricopa County in Arizona. It can be connected to the Internet by a wireless router.

It’s known that the illegal use of wireless routers can enable non-authorized persons to change vote totals at will to what ever they desire the outcome to be. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, claiming that the elections were honest, has refused to turn over to the equipment and has lost several lawsuits attempting to block the audit. The senate decided to go ahead with recounting the physical votes and postpone looking at the routers until after examining the ballots.

Last week the senate again subpoenaed the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and they once again refused to comply. It’s now up to the Attorney General of Arizona to decide what to do.
