Investigative reporting is a necessity for all industries. After all, if we don’t investigate things, how do we know what’s going on?

Daily we confront a quartet of actions and results. Most actions start with good intentions that result in good results. Sometimes well intended actions result in unfortunate results – much to the dismay of the intender. Then there are cases of wrongfully intended actions resulting in good results (much to the chagrin of the perpetrator). And last we have the bad actor with evil intentions that result in what the bad guy wanted all along – sad results for the intended receiver/victim; in this case – by the bad actor that sometimes ends in the destruction of the intended victim by bankruptcy, corruption or worse. These are the cards every investigator is dealt when attempting to untangle  a  problem whose solution most people would benefit from.

That’s why I’ve started James Martin Investigates. I’m an investigative reporter working with you, as citizen investigators, to unfold many of the great puzzles in politics (government, foreign policy), history, economics, and science. Your comments will become more than advice. They’ll become part of the case file we’ll be building to find out the truth of the questions we’re trying to answer. Any conclusions we arrive at will be published here.

As for Criminal Investigations? This is not the purpose of James Martin Investigates. Yet, no doubt, corruption can be behind any door. However, as fair minded citizens seeking only to better our world (hoping to leave it a better place than we found it) we must consider that any of the other explanations mentioned above could be the most truthful one. We’ll only know if we try. If one of our investigations reveals suspicious activity into the matter of inquiry, we’ll mention it here if it is pertinent to accurate (truthful) reporting.
